The Wheeltec R550 4WDBot Ultra is the updated four-wheel-drive version of the R550 ROS2 education robot platform. This Ultra configuration is built around Raspberry Pi 5, M10P TOF LiDAR, a depth camera, and a voice interaction module.
The 4WDBot chassis uses four 65mm rubber wheels and a four-wheel differential drive layout, giving the robot strong traction, a 6kg reference load capacity, and a stable base for ROS2 navigation, perception, voice interaction, and open-source robot development. Compared with the Mecanum or omni versions, this configuration prioritizes straightforward 4WD movement and payload-friendly mobility rather than lateral translation.
For other R550 chassis options, compare the Wheeltec R550 AKM/DiffBot Ultra, Wheeltec R550 MecanumBot Ultra, Wheeltec R550 OmniBot, and Wheeltec R550 TrackedBot. For arm expansion, see the Wheeltec R550A 4DOF Arm ROS Kit.

Yes. This product is written for the R550 4WDBot Ultra configuration with Raspberry Pi 5, M10P TOF LiDAR, depth camera, and voice interaction module.
No. This is the four-wheel-drive differential chassis version with 65mm rubber wheels. It does not provide the same lateral translation behavior as a Mecanum or omni-wheel chassis.
The R550 four-wheel-drive chassis reference configuration lists up to 6kg load capacity. Final performance depends on installed modules, surface condition, battery state, and motion tuning.
Yes. The R550 family is positioned for ROS2 education and development, including mapping, navigation, perception, interaction, and modular expansion workflows.
The updated Ultra configuration includes M10P TOF LiDAR, a depth camera, and a voice interaction module in addition to the robot base and Raspberry Pi 5 compute configuration.
A flat indoor surface with good wheel traction is recommended for stable 4WD movement, cleaner odometry, and more reliable navigation behavior.
