Dont let this drip tray sets appearance fool youthis tool from Wagensteiger is an all-purpose kitchen workhorse. The combination of fine wire mesh and a solid tray underneath naturally lends itself to draining fried foods or thawing frozen ones. But the applications dont stop there: Its flat shape is great for cleaning and sorting dried beans and lentilsyou can really spread them out for a full inspectionand salting slices of eggplant or zucchini, all while draining the runoff. The surface area makes this a pinch hitter for rinsing produce, too; you can fit a surprising amount of food in a single layer, so every piece gets equal attention from the faucet. (And when youre done rinsing, you can leave the tray set up to drip-dry.) It also provides plenty of airflow, which is handy for dry-brining chicken, salting steaks or even keeping fresh toast crispy at the table. The set can double as a secondary dish rackjust stack it neatly and stow it away when the dishes are dry. And no matter what ends up in the drip tray (or stuck in the holes of the mesh), the 100% stainless steel construction means you can toss both pieces in the dishwasher.
