Dynaudio LYD 5 – Nearfield Monitor with 5″ Woofer

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Get the unvarnished truth and deliver your mixes exactly as the artist intended.

LYD 5, with its low-volume precision, is the ideal complement for any small studio set-up. It uses the same lightweight aluminium voice-coils in its handmade 5in MSP drive-units as our high-end hi-fi speakers, and pairs them with cutting-edge Class-D amplification as well as a 24-bit/96kHz signal path with advanced DSP.

Versatile, powerful and precise exactly as they should be
Monitoring in an untreated room can never be considered ideal. Fortunately, Dynaudios LYD series is here to make accurate, clean sound for the home or project studio a reality. Dual 50-watt power amps power a punching 5 driver and smooth soft-dome tweeter for precise audio reproduction.

Dynaudio also included 3 handy switches to ensure its quick and easy to find the best sound to suit your room.

Firstly, a Position switch filters reflective interference when in place within 20 of a wall.

Next up, a Sound Balance selector increases or limits brightness dependent on the characteristics of your room perfect for switching between rooms with treated and bare walls.

Lastly, is a 3-way Bass Extension switch to give you control of your Dynaudio LYD-5s low end in 10Hz increments.

Incredible consistency
Dynaudio monitors are designed to speak the truth so you get exactly what you need: an exact reproduction of your mix. Great mixing derives from attention to detail while striving for a final mix that goes way beyond the sum of its parts. Dynaudio believe that the same principle applies when designing ultimate monitors.

Utmost care in selection of materials and production combined with the industry’s most thorough and extensive testing program allow the LYD 5s monitors to achieve 100 percent consistency – not just between different pairs, but also when crossing pairs or relying on pairs in different locations.

And due to Dynaudios unique driver technology, the LYD 5s monitors are neutral and uncoloured. The smooth clarity in combination with the outstanding dynamic capabilities of these monitors ensure that you can work long hours without ear fatigue.
