Elecrow ThinkNode M2 Meshtastic LoRa Signal Transceiver is a compact LoRa communication node built around the ESP32-S3 and SX1262. It is designed for users who want a portable or embeddable node with a 1.3-inch OLED display, Bluetooth phone configuration, external LoRa antenna support, and a built-in battery. This makes it especially suitable for Meshtastic handheld nodes, low-cost off-grid messaging, community networking, field testing, and embedded LoRa solution development.
The ThinkNode M2 works well in both the Meshtastic and MeshCore ecosystems. It is shipped as a Meshtastic-ready device, and it is also supported by the MeshCore Web Flasher, where M1, M2, M3, M5, and M6 are listed as supported Elecrow devices. That gives the M2 strong flexibility for users choosing between Meshtastic workflows and MeshCore workflows in a compact OLED-based form factor.

Meshtastic workflow
The ThinkNode M2 is designed to work directly with the Meshtastic app for parameter configuration, message communication, map and location sharing, monitoring, and data export. If you want to tune client-side behavior, you can also read the OpenELAB Meshtastic device configuration guide and the OpenELAB Meshtastic network setup guide.
MeshCore workflow
The ThinkNode M2 is also a valid MeshCore device. Since the MeshCore Web Flasher explicitly lists M2 among the supported Elecrow devices, it can also be used in the MeshCore ecosystem. That is useful for users who want a compact OLED node rather than a tracker or a solar outdoor device.
Why M2 is different from M1 and M3
The ThinkNode M2 sits between simple handheld communication nodes and more specialized tracking hardware. Compared with the M1, it adds an OLED display and ESP32-S3-based richer interface experience. Compared with the M3, it is less tracker-oriented and more suitable for general node, messaging, and embedded integration workflows.
It is mainly a handheld communication node with a richer display and interface experience, not a dedicated tracker device.
Yes. The MeshCore Web Flasher lists the M2 among the supported Elecrow devices, so it can also be used in the MeshCore ecosystem.
Yes. It includes a 1.3-inch OLED display for real-time device status and information.
It is a strong fit for portable off-grid messaging, community networking, field testing, and compact embedded LoRa communication projects.
